1. Indication of differing tin plating quantities on both sides: D-mark and A-mark can be used to distinguish tin plating quantities on both sides according to customer requirements.

A. On the side with higher tin plating quantity, parallel lines are used to indicate the entire surface (A-mark).
B. On the side with lower tin plating, white lines are marked 3mm from the edge (D-mark).

2. For tin content exceeding #100 or below #10, please inquire.

Surface Finish

Finished productsSignCategoryDescription
One cold rollingBPolished finishA glossy surface obtained by subjecting the tin-plated layer to a fusion treatment on a base film with a fine-grained, smooth surface.
One cold rollingRRough surface finishA glossy surface obtained by subjecting a tin-plated layer to a fusion treatment on a film with a directional grinding stone pattern surface.
One cold rollingSSilver surface finishApply a molten tin coating to create a glossy surface on film stock with a coarse, misty, non-glossy surface.
One cold rollingMDull surface finishA matte surface obtained by electroplating tin onto a matte-finished substrate without subsequent annealing.
Double cold rollingRRough surface finishA glossy surface obtained by subjecting a tin-plated layer to a fusion treatment on a film with a directional grinding stone pattern surface.

Steel Type

Steel TypeDescrip tion
MRLow residual carbonyl content with excellent corrosion resistance, typically used for general purposes such as containers.
LCopper, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and other residual elements are present in extremely low quantities, making it suitable for food containers requiring superior corrosion resistance.
DAluminum-deoxidized mild steel, suitable for deep drawing or preventing the occurrence of Luder’s Line.

Temper

DesignationRockuell HardnessScale(HR-30T)Appliance
One rollingT149±4Deep-drawn tanks or nozzles requiring special processing characteristics.
T253±4Medium-depth deep-drawn cans, such as small square cans and oval cans.
T2.555±4Hardness between T2 and T3, such as small can bodies or lids.
T3; T3CA57±4Standard empty cans with can lids or crown caps.
T4CA61±4Containers or crown caps requiring slightly higher hardness specifications than T3.
T5CA65±4For large tank bodies or tank lids, and containers with high internal pressure.
Double rollingDR-873±5Beer and carbonated beverage cans.
DR-976±5The body or top and bottom covers of large tanks.
DR-9M77±5Lids for beer and carbonated beverages.
DR-1080±5Lids for beer and carbonated beverages.

Note:

(1) Specification CA denotes continuously annealed tinplate, characterized by high hardness, uniform mechanical properties, and superior corrosion resistance, making it ideal for can forming.

(2) DR-8, DR-9, DR-9M, and DR-10 are tinplate sheets rolled to extreme thinness while maintaining strength after undergoing annealing treatment.

(3) Due to the mechanical directionality inherent in continuously annealed and DR tinplate, the rolling direction must be parallel to the circumference of the empty can when used for can body manufacturing.
